Greetings, CLT Scene and Beyond! How are you?

On November 26, 2026, I opened up WordPress to craft a website for news that entailed covering Charlotte. What started out under the “Reporting From 20XX” banner of covering the Queen City’s local gaming scene, from Koyobi Inc to Potions & Pixels and SetPlay, would go on to expand into covering different entertainment genres, culture, but mainly, what grabbed me, was music.

Reporting From 20XX, from those humble beginnings, spotlights music not just in Charlotte, but around the world. By the power of sites like Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and even Spotify, we’re able to tap in (and have) to musicians in the Queen City’s underground, to just about anywhere in the states, and going so far as Europe, the United Kingdom, Asia, and beyond in finding some of the coolest talents out there.

This more often than not one-man-show has tapped me in to meet some of the most amazing communities of people so far, both in my own backyard of Charlotte and anywhere my car, or Zoom, could take me, and I’m eternally grateful.

When I look back on where I was last year, when I had to take a sort-of break from a lot to reconnect with other parts of my life, I think stopping to talk with our music community friends, and just sitting back to observe everything, not only rekindled my flame, it made it burn brighter.

I love watching every band come in and out of Charlotte. I love getting to venture out to new scenes, and new venues, to see what the environments are like. I love hearing about the ups, and downs, of what’s going on, because I know in some way, the writing and coverage we do here can give a spotlight to those that need an extra voice speaking alongside them.

I have many plans for the 2024 – 2025 season of Reporting From 20XX. Now living as a full-time writer in other capacities, I’ve been able to see how far I can push myself when it comes to working here. The reviews and spotlights over the past few days are exactly what I want to keep going all through the 9^th year of the platform. I want to see it happen, and I know many of you do too, whether or not you’re familiar with RF20XX, or we’ve yet to meet (Hi!).

As of this writing, I am setting up a fundraiser to help broaden those visions, but what is most important is your support and participation. If you know of a cool thing happening, in the music or gaming scenes where you are, tell a friend. Share our media, there’s a ton of it. If you need photo work done, hit us up. Press releases and promotions? We’ve got you.

And, dare I say, if you have new music, events, or projects coming down the line, by the gods, tell us! I want to make this next year more memorable than the last, and I’d love for you to be a part of that. Reporting From 20XX has always been about the community and covering what its up to, and that will always include you, our readers, viewers, and listeners, at the core.
