The RF20XX Weekly Wrap: 11/30 to 12/6

Happy Mid-Week Drop, CLT Scene & Beyond!!

With the occasional bump in life sometimes, the schedule around here gets a little shaken, but at ’20XX, we’ll always deliver on the week to make sure you know that the scene, one way or another, is still fighting the good fight, even if we’re bordered off in the physical world from one another. With the new orders coming down from on high just this past Tuesday, it is increasingly essential that we do what it takes to make sure to keep people safe so we can all rock out again. Keep the faith, keep plugging in, and we’ll keep doing our part too ~

On the sides of that, this week has been phenomenal from the drops that hit us sideways as well as the music videos we were stunned by. If you’ve slept on the Black Mavericks or haven’t caught word of them till now, definitely go check out their catalogue, because they’ve been at it for a min, and like Elevator Jay or Jah Freedom, this duo brings it in a mesh of old and new school, refreshing to the senses & flowing like the moves from a kung-fu DVD. “Honey Jazzz” as a single debuted in early 2020, but that’s only the last track of the album, so get on the road leading to it on their Bandcamp or Spotify if theit vibes hit you the same way it’s hit us.

We also started up this month’s theme on the weekly streams, & it’s all about Suda 51!! If you’re in the Discord, expect occasional drops that give out behind-the-scenes looks at one of the most indie creators out on the modern VG main stage! This week’s offerings will again be Silver Case & Lollipop Chainsaw, so come hang out on Thursday & Sunday, and get in early for the video picks we find ourselves attached to!!!!!

Are you behind? Then come in and see what you missed! The Weekly Wrap Starts here!

Eclecticism EP

“On the last Talks! episode for the year (listen to the podcast to find out more!), I talk to Cap Nunn, bassist for The Fill Ins, guitarist for SuperJett, and now a solo artist and session musician! We talk about his new song, what The Fill Ins have been up to, a lot of covid talk, bucket list bands, cassettes, guitar wizards, and we make apologies for a few bands that people like to regularly talk bad about, among a lot of other things (there really wasn’t much on the cutting room floor from this one)! This one was pretty much two friends hanging out and having a good time via zoom (even with a pesky lag that edited out at times and left in at others… for context!), so we get a little bit all over the place. Be sure to check out Cap’s new song on your favorite streaming service!”

“Kody and Michael talk with Gastonia’s own up and coming Metalcore Quintet, Fault Union. These gentlemen bring a level of professionalism and talent to local metal that we have not yet seen, leading to a very self indulgent conversation about all thing metal.”
